Heritage Museum Exhibition Designer

Our soon to be completed community heritage museum is seeking a talented Exhibition Designer to bring our collections to life. Whether you're a seasoned professional looking for a change of pace or a recent graduate eager to kickstart your career, this is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact.


Our collection features Mansfield's proud history and culture including a significant display of local fish fossils going back to the start of time and the Taungurung first people’s story, including more recent history and pioneering feats connected to High Country grazing, timber, gold and tourism.


Responsibilities: 

* Conceptualise, design, and implement engaging exhibitions that appeal to diverse audiences

* Collaborate with museum and society volunteers to research and interpret collection objects

* Utilising the latest technology to develop interactive displays and educational materials

* Source and manage exhibition materials and installations

* Oversee exhibition fabrication and installation


Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in design, museology, or a related field OR equivalent experience

* An ability to work with passionate volunteers

* A keen ability to design and execute exhibitions

* Strong communication and project management skills

* Passion for history, art, and culture
